Animating Children's Views

Animating Children’s Views

Interviewing Children for Survey Research

United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child

States Parties shall assure to the child who is capable of forming his or her own views the rights to express those views freely in all matters affecting the child, the views of the child being given due weight in accordance with the age and maturity of the child. –Article 12

Children's opinions and perspectives about issues that affect their lives are often ignored by adults. The Animating Children's Views (ACV) methodology is a tool for survey researchers to learn about the views of children and young people on any topic. ACV uses cartoon videos to create an engaging survey experience while also learning more about children's perspectives.

The methodology is low-risk, time-efficient, affordable, and available to survey organizations and for other non-commercial research purposes.
